Black Out Day

We are just so proud of our mighty All Blacks that we just can't help but dress in black.

We would really like to know what you are doing to help support the ABs.

Duffy Theatre

We were lucky enough to see the Duffy Theatre troop perform this afternoon.  The children loved it and as a result they have all taken home forms to fill out to get a Library Card from our own Otorohanga Public Library.  We are so excited and maybe we'll even go for a trip down there to see what it's like.  Some of us have been there already and some have yet to find the treasure that awaits when you borrow a book from the public library.

Duffy's Book Bus Adventure.
Mr Barrier sets out to shut down the library service since it makes no money. However, the show's hero Duffy and his librarian friends Awhina and Tiaki pull out all the stops to ensure that libraries remain free and available for their community.

The story reaches beyond school halls thanks to a partnership between Duffy Books and Public Libraries of New Zealand. Every child who sees the theatre will be given a card which is stamped whenever they visit their local library. Once they collect five stamps they receive a free book to keep, thanks to Duffy Books in Homes and Scholastic.

Go the All Blacks!

Well, its finally here, so we spent the day cheering on the All Blacks even though their game doesn't start until tonight.  We are so glad that the Rugby World Cup is here and so proud that it is in New Zealand.  We have had a few of the teams stop into Otorohanga, but sadly we were all at school working hard and learning heaps.  Maybe you'll enjoy our photomontage of our class as All Black supporters.

Year 2's joining us from Room 1

Today is the first day for four hard-working Year 2 students to join our classroom.  Room 1 has had alot of children join them throughout the year and now with so many in their class we got to chose four lucky students to come up and join our class.

We welcome you to Room 4 and hopefully over the next few weeks we'll be able to show you some of the work that they have been doing.

We have been working so hard

Hey everyone,

I'm so sorry its take us so long to write a posting.  Its just that we have been so busy in class that we haven't had time to think about what we wanted to add.

Last week we spent Thursday and Friday competing in the national online mathletics competition. We are still awaiting our results but we're hoping for the best.  When we went home on Friday we were coming third, but the results have been sent away to be checked.  Hopefully we find out some good news on Monday.

So watch out for us and we'll keep you posted.
