Backstroke

I went to swim against Hangatiki, Maihiihi, Otewa and St Mary's.  I did backstroke and I was in the first race.  That was one width and I won.  In the next race I had to do 2 widths.  I did the first width and when I came back someone bumped into me with their head.  You got a red cube if you came first, a yellow cube if you came second and I green cube meant that you were third.  I got a green cube for that race.

Almost Drowning

I went to swimming sports today.  I was really excited until I saw all the other children there.  I came last because I got tired feet.  The other swimmers were in front of me and they were kicking really hard and they made me slow down.  When I turned around for my second width the flutterboard slipped out of my hands.  I nearly drowned.  So I got out of the pool and got changed.

Our Day Out

I went with the Year 4s to the Otorohanga town pools for the small schools swimming sports today.  We were swimming against Otewa, St Mary's, Maihiihi and Hangatiki.  There are some good swimmers out there.  I liked cheering for the other swimmers, especially the children from my school.  I was so excited and really hot.  I was a little bit confused too because I thought I would be swimming by myself and some of the Room 6 children swam with me.  It was fun and St Mary's had a sausage sizzle there.  It smelt yummy.

Small Schools Swimming Sports

Today I went to the Small Schools Swimming Sports.  We swam against Otewa, Hangatiki, St Mary and Maihiihi.  I was bored waiting so next year I want to be in more races.  The water was not that cold but it was kind of deep.  I thought it was much deeper on the other side and didn't want to sink so I was a little scared.  It was really exciting lining up for my race.  It was so hot though.  I was extremely thirsty by the time I finished because I was huffing and puffing across the pool.
