Love the way you have made this showing how you made the helmets. That is very clever ! What will you all do once they are made ? Will you wear them for a day ? week ?
It was our very first time trying to make a slideshow using slide.com. We had to choose what sort of background and effects we want. We had to vote because everyone wanted different things. Most of us liked the bubbles the best even though some of the boys wanted spaceships.
We are hoping to finish them next week and then we are going to have a Viking celebration. Some one even found a way to make a Viking panpipe. Those of us that finish first are going to try and make one with straws. We don't think we would like to eat some of the food they ate, so we are going to have sandwiches and maybe popcorn.
We're not sure of that question yet, but we are very glad you asked. Some of the class did powerpoints on Viking Weapons, but it is mostly about swords and shields. We will look it up and then let you know the answer - if we find it.
What a lot of fun you are having Room 7. My class enjoy papier mache as well and we have just made maracas. The vikings are very interesting. Keep up the good work. Mrs Eden and Room 13 Richmond Primary School Nelson. http://room13richmondprimary.blogspot.com
Hi Room 7. When I tried doing this with my class the balloons popped before the paper dried and we ended up with a terrible mess. Did this happen to you? I hope you get them finished before the holidays. I would love to see the finished helmets on your blog. Mrs Lindsey, Room 6, Koromatua School
Dear OPS Room 7, I love the look of the Viking Helmets. What a really cool topic to study! My name is Tania and I am from Nelson Central School in Nelson. I help the teachers and junior school with their computer time. I came across your blog through a twitter tweet! I'm really impressed with your blog and please post more of what you learnt about vikings, I'm really interested. Ka kite Tania.
Hello OPS Room 7! We are a fifth grade class in California and your blog neighbor for the blogging challenge. We are very excited about your Viking helmets and were wondering if they were heavy. Also, have you studies any Viking mythology? We are currently studying Greek mythology and were curious if there were similar myths shared by both cultures? We love your site! Please visit ours! Mrs. Thordarson (which is a Viking name :)
I have got to make myself a viking helmet like that. I can't wait to see how they turn out. So far I have 3 viking helmets. A custom made one like yours would be great! :-)

Hi everyone, Sorry we haven't had the chance to answer some of your comments. We did have a chance to look at some of the really neat blogs that other schools have done.
Please make sure you leave the address to your blog so we can visit it.
it looks like you are having a lot of fun. Sticky fingers in sticky glue. I wonder why Viking helmets had horns?
